Learn to create a painting in gorgeous, rich oil paints in just one day!
We have all been taught that ‘oil and water do not mix’ however, rules are made to be broken in art. Winsor & Newton water soluble oil paints look like and behave like traditional oil paints but allow you the freedom to work solvent-free in a non-toxic studio environment, ideal for those with allergies or an aversion to solvents (like me). When combined with the drama of Acrylic Inks these oils can create stunning effects in painting. Learn to PLAY with your paints – interact with your own creativity and surprise yourself with the results..
Start at the very beginning under the professional guidance and encouragement of award-winning artist Denise Hogan. Learn how to choose a suitable image to work from (or bring your own), how to easily create that image on canvas and bring the whole painting to life – simply, easily and whilst having the most fun.
Like Denise’s regular weekly classes you will learn how to look at Art, how to read Art and how to communicate with your materials. No experience is necessary. All are welcome from complete beginners to experienced painters. Everyone will be working on their own image at their own pace so there is no pressure to keep up with anyone but yourself!
All the materials you will need are provided, including paints, brushes, canvas, sketching materials and image library. Choose from our small library of art books and lessons here at the studio, or you are welcome to bring your own image to inspire you.
The workshops run from 10.30am – 5.30pm with refreshments available all day. There is a break at midday to enjoy a home cooked lunch.
